Open Support Groups

Why Should I join a support group? They offer families of like-mindedness
the opportunity to get together for field trips, mom’s meetings, activities .
Some are based on educational philosophies or are simply a way for other
families to connect. They help families stay informed of actions each
individual family may need to take in regards to legislation that would
adversely affect home school freedoms.

THE Leadership Coalition currently serves over 34 groups in the Northeast
Ok. Area. The following groups are accepting new members. If you are
looking for a church based or limited membership  support group, you may
contact Linda Duntley at 322-3984 for a referral.

Cornerstone is a participant –driven homeschooling information and support
network for families in NE Ok. We seek to facilitate networking
opportunities and to empower families in their homeschooling decisions. We
believe there is strength in diversity, therefore we support the individual
freedom of each family to choose home education and to autonomously direct
such education in the manner best suited for their family. We do not
discriminate on the basis of a person’s race, religion, belief system or
ethnicity.

Augustine Christian Academy
Augustine Christian Academy is a non-denominational, Classical School
dedicated to helping parents prepare their children to follow God’s
calling in their lives. Although the school offers a full-time program for
parents who chose this option, it has always offered parents the
choice of sending their students for as many or as few classes as they
wish. SAA is unique in its
classical approach, but it is also unique in how well it welcomes and
supports home-schooled students. Students who are enrolled in at least
one class have the opportunity to participate in many other school
functions including athletic and academic competitions, house parties and
activities, performing arts productions, chapels, Bible study groups,
House leadership, and even
graduation ceremonies. This makes SAA one of the best values in town
for home schooling families. Contact the school at 832-4600 or

once-a-week classes within a committed Christian community. Offering structure and
support, as well as fellowship for students and parents, there are three different
programs within the community: Foundations (K4- 6th), Essentials (4th - 6th), and

their children, ages 12 and under. Trained tutors, who are homeschool
parents, lead each group of students as they participate in a rigorous
memory program encompassing history, geography, Latin, English grammar,

science experiment, art project, and an oral presentation.
The afternoon Essentials program, for 3rd–6th grade children, meets
for 2 hours in the afternoon and provides a trained tutor who teaches  32
demanding language arts program and leads a Math Slam competition. The
writing curriculum used in this program is the Institute for Excellence in Writing.

for 24 weeks during the school year.
The Challenge program is designed for junior high and high school
